Hey,

I am Alex. I won't be so pretentious as to say that I enjoy all types of music, though I think I like a fair variety. I enjoy avant-garde music... Be it the chamber music of John Zorn, the grinding metal of Meshuggah, the rapid time signature changes (and musical style changes) of Mr. Bungle, or the noisescapes of Merzbow. I also adore progressive rock... Namely the band King Crimson (in any of its many lineups). Industrial music (old and new) is also a great love of mine.

That's basically it, folks. I sing in a band.

It's good to see someone who likes King Crimson joining the forum. Given the differences between the bands numerous phases, is there a particular era you like ?

I like it all, but prefer the pre-Discipline stuff.

Unfortunately, the only albums I own from the pre-Discipline era are In The Court of the Crimson King (obviously a classic), In The Wake of Poseidon, and Starless and Bible Black. The latter is probably my favorite of those... Fracture is simply amazing. But I think I actually prefer their Discipline era work.
