Where's the poetry corner?
#1
Is there a poetry/lyrics forum on the site? Not to necessarily post poems, but to "think tank" type of thing. Inspiration from eachother as it were

Don't know what you are looking for. Can you be more specific. I've got lots of poetry that I have done but am a bit reticent about posting anywhere in case someone else copies it off for their use. However, on the other hand, don't want to bore anyone with my renditions. Will await your reply with interest! (sounds jolly formal doesn't it!!) heehee!

I guess Lyrics and songwriting could be the area for that. I believe that the great poets of our day have an guitar in their hands now-a days Cool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

At first I thought this was a bad idea. But now I realize it is getting people talking. Let's not go down the man from Nantucket trail thoughSmile

It's a pretty conventional choice but this is my favourite poem (Shakespeare Sonnet 116)

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
