US HOT 100 SUMMARY & REVIEW 28.01.25 #18

THE TOP TEN:

Morgan Wallen returns top ten with 'Love Somebody' at 10, Bad Bunny's 'BAILE INOLVIDABLE' Drops six spots to 9 while 'That's So True' is up two to 8. Teddy makes his 75th week in the chart up two spots to 7 and 'Birds Of A feather' is up to 6. Kendrick and SZA's 'Luther' returns top five and 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' sticks at three which gives a opening for ROSÉ and Bruno's 'APT.' To jump to 3. Bad Bunny's 'DTMF' Stays at two; missing out on the top spot for its second week, but taking the number one for the fourth week straight is 'Die With A Smile' by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

NEW ENTRYS:

97. Stoned - Mac Miller (3.5/10)

Sadly a decent beat ruined by Mac's voices, I don't even know why he sounds like this, it sounds like he's letting out a small moan when he sings "stoooooned" and the way he goes about performing this track just doesn't even feel like the production itself, embarrassing!

95. DJ'S Chord Organ Ft. SZA (2.5/10)

How do people listen to this? This is the first time I've rated SZA anywhere near this low, I get there going for an experimental song where you soak in what's happening slowly but its all just dull and feels like it's missing so much more potential! This sounds like a Mac filler song.

92. GBP - Central Cee/21 Savage (5/10)

Tough British street rap returns, and I’m not really complaining. They both rap well together and have no trouble making a beat. The problem here is that everything just sounds as dull as can be. It's not something new from them; it features reused verses, the vocals feel too familiar, and it's lacking impact. The production is also basic—not bad, just simple. I can respect the Lyrical Lemonade video, though, because those shots were fire. But this track misses the mark and doesn't leave me eagerly awaiting Central Cee's upcoming album.

88. Push 2 Start - Tyla (4/10)

This is sadly extremely basic, Tyla is forever going to be known for her song 'Water' and this is a short lived charting appearance, I just know it. The R&B and afrobeat from Tyla adds nothing new to the industry and I wouldent be surprised if she was an industry plant. 'Push 2 Start' is about situations of a relationship but yet struggles to explore anything new music related, not even the people behind the scenes can jazz this up, weak song.

85. 5 Dollar Pony Rides - Mac Miller (4.5/10)

I tried listening to this countless times in different environments and came to the conclusion that people are only rating him high because he passed away. Since his death, on rating sites like AOTY, all his new albums have been labeled as "must-hear" and rated much higher. To be honest, this track is just bad. I'm never one to rate out of sympathy, but this sounds like an experimental studio draft—worthless and forgettable.

77. Funny Papers - Mac Miller (5.5/10)

This died on me so much from the first listen.
I previously wrote:
This is a very cool drop. The keyboards and drums create a new sound in the music industry and give a strong reason to listen to Mac’s new album. The lyrics are well-picked, and the whole song rushes with creativity! A pleasant listen.
But now the albums got you in such a bad state of mind that it's hard to get you out of it, this was decent but not to good.
