DARLINGSIDE ~ Everything is Alive

A little Fleet Foxes, a little Simon & Garfunkel, a little R.E.M. - sort of - ish. To me, this is an album with an A and a B side. I liked most of side A – side B got a bit rambling and lost me, until the final track which is luminous. They could do with more meat on their bones, IMHO. Quite listenable but also just a tad wiffly (which paradoxically, is also some of their charm) and missing that vital stickability element - side B had zero hookiness. Maybe they will manifest it somewhere along the line - I wish they would because they have some good moments, great harmony voices, decent instrumentation. Was so hoping to be properly sold! Looking at what's out there at the moment, which is mostly beyond my comprehension (if not downright disgusting), the album is worth a listen if one has the inclination - potential, I'd say.
Discogs says Folk/World & Country. I always look there because one can usually find the correct info re personnel, writers, etc. Already posted a coupla tracks in New and Notable so here's "Right Friend" ...
