KRAAN ~ Sandglass

Spotify’s algorithm hasn’t got a clue what to do with me, lol! The playlists are ridiculous. I’m learning how to filter out the wildly improbable in terms of suitability for my tastes, however, occasionally, something draws my attention for whatever reason and boom!! – a happy collision. Such is the case with Kraan, a band about which I know less than zero. Or knew less than zero a few hours ago, I should say – I’m learning now. Maybe the algorithm isn’t so daft after all – this band released their self-titled debut album in 1972 and it gets high praise from several quarters. Some call them Krautrock but I’m not entirely sure what that means – it’s all rock n roll to me, lol! Seriously – I’d say jazz/rock.

I’ve listened once but got distracted along the way so need to give it another spin. Seemed to be an even balance between vocal and instrumental tracks and I liked what I was paying attention to. Think I'm going to put it on my wishlist.

A vocal track (English) - "Path" ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK850hVAemY

Damn fine bass on this track … makes my little heart happy – lead isn’t too shabby either – both Hellmut Hattler and Peter Wolfbrandt are from the original lineup …

ive not previously heard of them neither Ruby
listened to the two linked tracks, actually prefer the instrumental, Pick Peat, over the other one.

and on Spotify's algorithm...they get it wrong for me at least 60% of the time.
im sure they get MH's right though...©rap, ©rap and more ©rap

so MH....
have you heard of Kraan?
do you own anything by them?

No AutoTune here - just direct to tape recording with no frills attached. Cowbell included!!!

MH comes through again with a relatively obscure artist in his collection

I don't like it either - nor do I like their debut.
Not going to try any more - this one is likely to be it!
