David Bowie "lazarus"
second single from the 'blackstar' album that comes out this month...
the lead of single was a ten minute epic that was totally weird(both song and video)...
this one just appears to go nowhere,
notice I wrote "appears to be"???
im not being tied down with Bowie, because I criticised his last album "the next day"
then after a few listens I grew on me and I bought it...
so im sitting on the fence at this point.

the video for the single hadn't been uploaded when I posted this single,
now it has and I have....
theres also an article rom NME online detailing how Bowie showed us his impending demise in the images in the video...
so read the article, watch the video and make up your own minds I guess:

I read an article by Toni Visconti, the producer, and he said that he was aware of the whole situation while making the album, so it does seem like Mr Bowie planned it down to the last detail. An artist to the end.

You could almost say he reinvented himself in death.

I remember exactly where I was when I first heard of 9/11 (walking down the stairs at Intel Ireland in Leixlip) and Princess Di's death (tinkering around on an old piano in the early hours of the morning after an all-night party in Cape Town). And now I will always remember where I was when I first heard of David's death. I was walking out of the reception of the company I am currently working for and George, the security guy at reception, said to me 'David Bowie's dead'. I told him that's impossible because he had just released an album a few days ago. It seems that Mr Bowie had us all fooled. As you say - he managed to reinvent himself - again! A great bloody loss to the world of real music.

even his bad material was usually interesting either musically, lyrically or via video.
