Need help finding band

Can't remember any songs, but I think the band name has something to do with "American". Probably classified as an alternative rock band similar to papa roach. the singer has tattoos and black hair and they have this one music video where its a whole group of people at a lake or something and they're on a boat and a girl jumps off onto a float or something. Sorry for the terrible description but if this rings any bells for anyone let me know asap
