Can I start a thread of condolence for the victims of flight MH17 which were from many nations .
The bodies touch down at 16.00 Dutch time , we as a nation are in national mourning today as 280+ victims were Dutch and around 200 or our country men will come back home here today .
For us there will be a minutes silence at 16.00
It is really ponient that they come down back into their homeland really close to me in the South Netherlands...Eindhoven Airport is close by to me .
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )

An horrific tragedy for your adopted homeland Gryphon ! My sincere condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the victims!
( There are still 100 bodies missing....so sad ! CNN mentioned that it was the first day of national mourning for The Nederlands since 1962...another air disaster ? )

Its really rare to have a national day of mourning here; the last time this happened was when queen Wilhelmina died in 1962.
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

A sad day indeed. RIP all those innocent souls. Just another example of man's inhumanity to man. As the line in the song goes 'When will they ever learn........'

with some 40+ people on that plane being Australian it brings it close to home here also...
a sad, tragic event that puts a huge black mark against humanity and the human race once again!
there were three young kids travelling with their Grandfather on that plane...all trying to get home to Perth on time for the youngsters to return to school on July 22nd...
the school is now in mourning, their friends/classmates recieving counselling.....
any loss of life in such an event is tragic, but when kids are involved, well, that appears worse IMO.
