New face on the block...
#1
Hey people!

I am a 17 year old guy with an incurable addiction to anything Weezer-related. I am also a big fan of Nirvana, Modest Mouse, Pixies and Neutral Milk Hotel; I am generally a huge alternative and indie rock fan. I'm hoping that this forum is one in which I can share my musical passions and not being either ridiculed for them or ignored altogether, as has happened before.

As previously stated, I'm a huge alternative and indie rock fan, and it'd be fantastic to meet people of my kind. From 'Two-Headed Boy' to 'Lithium', it'd be fantastic to talk and socialise with people of similar music taste.

I also (try to) write my own material, mainly lyrics, though I have been playing guitar for nearly a year now. I'm still no Jimmy Page yet, but will hopefully be one day. With regards to my lyrics, it'd be great to find people willing to help me work on them, if that's the sort of thing that goes on here (I'll give you all royalty payments when I'm top of the charts, I swear Wink ).

So yeah, I hope I can fit in well around here, even with my wacky, zany choices of musical delights Smile

welcome to MD...
my 'brother' intruduced me to Modest Mouse when i visited him in the U.S a couple of years ago, cool stuff

as for 'getting help' re:your own music, our resident part-time music creator Jerome would not hesitate to offer honest advice to you!

i think most of like a fair bit of 'indi rock' here, so you will fit in...you may also learn about a few more artists you never heard of on this forum...

so "turn on,tune in and drop out" into the wonderful intelligent music forum that is "music discussion" or MD as its known around these parts!

Welcome aboard the great MD, NeutralFinHotel! The NMH classic album In The Aeroplane Over The Sea has been well received here! I also love Weezer![TABLE="width: 100%"]

Well, I'm 57 and I've heard of some of those artists

Actually, I like a lot of alt and indie stuff from the 90's , since that's when I was paying attention .
I stopped paying attention in the late 90's when I started playing guitar again and also discovered Bill Nelson (that darn guy is everywhere I go, it seems :eekSmile . Another geezer Billfan turned me on to Modest Mouse recently . Smashing Pumpkins is probably the one out of all that ilk that I listen to the most , mostly because of the guitar work (certainly not because of Corgan's singing  . As usual, as with all music , I like little , but what I listen to , I LOVE .
