Unsure where to put this Thread--here? General Music? But in any case if you love American popular music and those who made it including behind-the-scenes types, you need to read Mr. Guralnick's books--essential to understanding post-WWII pop music. He's in the Blues Hall of Fame and has been showered with awards. Now the good news: he and his publishers have reissued his books a few at a time as enhanced e-books--lots of music and interviews, some as video clips. Here's what the NYTimes has to say: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/06/books/...books.html The publisher's description: http://www.peterguralnick.com/post/38384...-available Buy them anywhere you want of course but here's the Amazon page for his stuff: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=a9_sc_1?rh=i...1397247158 This is Mr. Guralnick's own site--be sure to scroll down to his interview about Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come"--tears, hairs rising on the back of your neck, all that: http://www.peterguralnick.com/
