modern "territory" bands
#1
In the '30's there were terrific bands that played a given part of the US and rarely strayed (Kansas City and Dallas were 2 prime areas). Well, it's pretty much the same today--great music being originated in one area and not generally shared elsewhere--you can make a pretty good living just touring the US Great Plains (Kansas, Nebraska, northern Oklahoma) and bein' "UNK." anywhere else: You knew I was leading up to something and here it is: The Tijuana Gigolos, the pride of Nebraska, killin' it.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-g_iiNoS1s and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PcheEkt-MI << NOT the song you expected from the title also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMLlpjd3SQY << a ballsy sax AND a B3 sound ?? I'm in. Finally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG2cqK8wXbk

There are many Canadian bands that never stray far from home...here's one from my town!

Them lads sure keep it rockin' to the delight of the patrons. Glad to see this Thread got a little traction. How about a hi-lifin' band from the US East Coast? Joe Barger--got a different type of voice but dig their take on a classic '40's jazz and pop tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLkH2Yhxgp0
Hey, this isn't a N. America-exclusive topic--Australia/NZ and Europe gotta have'm too. Pile on, folks.
