Doesn't it Steve? And when it comes to musical effects, I think Vivaldi began it...using instruments rhythmically and strongly, for great emotional outcome, imitation of nature etc. Not as brainy as Bach perhaps, but much more listenable!!!

I love The Four Seasons ...it is a true masterpiece...sounds so contemporary, Bell ! The guitar video was also awesome! Do you think music sounded different when it was first performed...in relation to the instruments of the day and those of now?

Yes it did. The original instruments of the time had less sound projection. The outcome stringier, different. If you're interested in listening to a sample, listen to the baroque composers executed by Nikolaos Harnoncourt and his chamber orchestra, which uses instruments of the time or at least close-imitations. You'll be surprised...
