Have You NOT Checked Out Dark Tranquility?? - Nick Dilley - 10-02-2013

Okay, not everyone is into melodic death metal. I get that. But if you are generally into metal, I suggest you check out Dark Tranquility. As gateway albums I suggest, Character, Fiction, and Damage Done. Then move onto Haven, The Mind's I, and We are the Void. After that, The Gallery, Skydancer, and Projector.

Just my two cents. Even though these guys are fairly well-known. I feel that they are underrated. The Gallery contains some superb arrangements, and while the first three albums I mention above don't stray too far from the verse/chorus paradigm, it's solid stuff.

Some of my favorite tracks: "Monochromatic Stains," "Terminus," "Inside the Particle Storm," "The Bow and the Arrow," "Insanity's Crescendo," "The Mundane and the Magic," "The Wonders at Your Feet," and "Not Built to Last."

Not exactly uplifting music, but great, great metal, IMO.

Excellent band Nick! They have their latest album "Construct" slated to be released the end of May. Should be a great listen.

I've been listening to some high energy LIVE albums lately by metallists Machine Head, Korn, Slipknot, and the high energy of non metallists Dropkick Murphys! Any great recommendations on high energy metal/ hard rock live albums or any other genre for that matter...with a bit of crowd noise also?...Don'trecommend ACDC the obvious kings of high energy rock......I've listened to their live concerts a lot in the past...great adrenaline rush!
