Music and Technology/Musician and technology - Kristy Leone - 28-10-2012 Still on this topic. Where should musicians/songwriters draw the line in the use of technology? Music and Technology/Musician and technology - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-10-2012 i think technology is there to be used so why not use it...in moderation,of course! unfortunately, it is used too often for all the wrong reasons nowadays IMO, it should be there to assist in the recording process or to enhance a track, not simply to create music from the ground up. im guessing Jerome would have a more informative opinion of it than me....so bring on the maestro, over to you J-Man!!!!! Music and Technology/Musician and technology - Jerome - 29-10-2012 I don't know if there is really a 'line' anywhere anymore. Technology can be useful if you are using it to be creative. If you are using it as a shortcut or because you are just lazy, then that is where the line exists for me. I like a blend of old (ancient really) instruments and modern ones (synthesizers & EWI's for example) with some good old fashioned rock n roll squarely in the middle. But the final goal of all music is that it must either make you think or make you feel. If it does neither of these then all the technology in the world won't help. And everyone seems to forget that the best piece of technology you will ever come across is the same one you used to start this thread. The human brain. All other technologies stem from it. Music and Technology/Musician and technology - Music Head - 29-10-2012 oh yes, the brain a terrible thing to taste except of course when they put it in Spam now that's some good stuff Music and Technology/Musician and technology - Jerome - 29-10-2012 You are just too much MH Music and Technology/Musician and technology - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-10-2012 ....and Jerome goes away shaking his head once again at another priceless Music Head comment LOL Music and Technology/Musician and technology - SteveO - 29-10-2012 sky's the limit but you can't beat a straight ahead song with good lyrics and standard instruments!!!...and I just lost my lunch MH...lol...thanks!...does Silence of the Lambs come to mind(brain) ?
