Why don't you do a search on google? It'd be much faster than waiting around for someone to answer on here.

They did, unfortunately. It's the same ridiculous metalcore shit they always come up with.

I fell for the hype.

After years of avoiding buying new Metallica albums, I actually trusted the reviewers and bought into the whole thing hook, line, and sinker.

It's not the worst thing that I've ever heard but gah is it cheesy.

YEP! They sure did!
"Death Magnatic" was released on September 10th. They say its a return to their days of old, but I have to agree with the general concesses here. From what I've heard so far, don't waste your time.

BUT, for those fans who were waiting anxiously for something new .. they are also heading out on tour in support of the new disc. So, check your ticket centers for locations and dates.

Death Magnetic is absolutely awesome, and well worth the time of any true Metallica fan. I've noticed that most of the people that have negative things to say about it, were people expecting it to suck, and going into it with a closed mind.
I've listened to it several times, and honestly, this is how Metallica should sound. It's a Masterpiece. Yeah, it's not exactly like their old stuff, but a lot like it. Keep in mind, these guys are a lot older now, and have been off of their A-game for a while. This is truly a step in the right direction.

Given, on the CD version, the quality isn't the best, but there are always the free Digital Download they give out when buying the CD, etc.

If you really want to hear some great Metallica, and actually willing to listen to it to enjoy, and not expecting to diss it, check out Death Magnetic. I've done a review of it myself if any of you want to see it.

Hi Skozzy,
Thank you so much for your review of Death Magnetic. I will admit I have only heard a couple tracks from it, and so perhaps I was too quick to judgement.

I have always admired James Hetfield as a song writer (along with Lars) and though I would never count myself a "die hard fan" I do enjoy a lot of their previous work. To that end, I was delighted to hear they were back in the studio and a new release was on its way this fall. I would have HAPPILY gone to see them in December (when they hit my area on their latest tour) but missed out on tickets (as they sold out in a couple short hours). Though I have yet to hear something on the new release that really excited me, it only means I will have to listen to more of the CD. :coffee:
