Older music that is still has a relevant sound today? - CherieLuamboYampanyaStar - 26-07-2012 I would say that older music can be relevant because the newer music is decreasing and newer music has seem to become a joke. Older music that is still has a relevant sound today? - hatchetman - 29-07-2012 A lot of newer music is starting to sound like older music though. Older music that is still has a relevant sound today? - Mrrusty1 - 29-07-2012 I think all music wether old or new is relevant today.. perhaps a lot of the older music was very revolutionary at that time because it was a lot more experimental in the 60s and early 70s whereas today, days bands tend to specialise in one type of music style be it metal or indie or punk as we now know it . groups like led zeppelin for instance had several different aspects to their style as did early david bowie. Older music that is still has a relevant sound today? - PennyLane - 30-07-2012 I was going to to make a new post for this, but I think it can fit well here. I just heard on " All Things Considered" about this new album by MoZella and it has been written and produced with Bryan Holland.... the legend Bryan Holland... the down and dirty Motown sound of Brian Holland. If I hadn't known that this was a new current album, I would've thought it came right out of 1965. It takes you back to those dirty soul beats coined by Holland. It is amazing to see this, to see something brand new that is so old. Music is at an interesting time now, artists are going back and forth I think between old and new and finding new ways to revamp old sounds. This is just all old, all like it was made, like a Motown album. Sounds like its straight out of the late 60's/early 70's. I also heard a bit of the 60s style in Adele's amazing album 21. Had some song played on the radio. Now, here you are mentioning them. Crazy how life works out sometimes. I'm not saying her stuff sounds out of place today, but it's like she's from a different era. |
