This awsome film had a really fantastic soundtrack which was as enigmatic as the film itself and in this film it couldnt have been bettered.

really?..and you'd be surprised that i dislike the film and its follow-up 2010...
havent really heard the whole soundtrack but i love the main theme(the one Elvis used to open his '70s concerts with), now that is an awesome piece of music IMO

It's called Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss and yes it's awesome MH !

well i agree about the follow uo 2010 which tried to explain things too much and didnt have the music. they should have just left it at 2001.

Another movie with great music was A clockwork orange , panned by ome critics but a very unique film with a fantastic music soundtrack.
