New to Folk and Blue Grass...Mumford and Sons - JaredN - 01-02-2012

Hi all, I have never really listened to folk or bluegrass in the past but recently I got hooked on Mumford and Sons album Sigh no More. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of other good groups in this genre that I might like. Thanks

Liam Finn...son of Neil Finn(split enz/crowded house)....check out my beginners guide to "Neil and Tim Finn Solo Years" as i have covered both of Liam's solo albums in that with links to most tracks!

for more "original folk/bluegrass" artists try:
Ernest Tubb
Bill Monroe

they are good starting points to know where the "genre" came from IMO

I think "High Country Snows" from Dan Fogleberg is an excellent one.

First of all i wouldn't call Mumford & Sons folk or bluegrass. They are usually considered blues. Having said that if you like Mumford and Sons, check out Hillstomp
