Didi has sung more than 10 thousands songs & worked with all musician & singers of her era, her name is recorded in Guinness Book Of World Record for recording most number of songs.She has 62 years of singing career in which Didi sung 36 regional language songs.She has been awarded by BHARATRATNA award which is best & biggest civil award given by Government Of India for her contribution to Indian Music. The song sung by Didi on the eve of 15th August,1947 "Ae mere vatan ke logon " was alluring & touching one that made india's first prime minister cry.Didi has won many awards in her singing career like filmfares & more.Recently she has been awarded with 'Hridaynath Award' in honor of his younger brother who is the best well known Music Composer in Marathi Music Industry.
No indian whether he knows about Music would never forget Lata Didi's immortal voice & would always be thankful for her contribution for the country.We all indians are thankful of whole Mangeshkar family for their enormous contribution to Indian Music Culture.
