Earliest Musical Memory - Tiggi - 10-09-2011 How far back can you go with musical memories ?? I can remember Beatles songs on the radio from when I was tiny, but the first song I can ever recall getting a real kick from would have been The New Christy Minstrels western song Three Wheels on my Wagon. Would have been about four years old when that made its' impression. I was fascinated by the gradual reduction in wagon wheels ?! Please share... Earliest Musical Memory - TraceNspace - 10-09-2011 I remember from the time I was about 6 years old spending my $2 allowance on a new record single every week at the Record Bar. I had just enough money to buy one and I ended up with so many singles. My first was Ratt's Round And Round. I wish I still had them. I gave them all away when I was 11 because I had cassettes now! Ooops! Music was always just there, MTV was new, my older brother is truly a music head, my Dad gave me a love of the 50's rock 'n roll. I used to wake up to it every Sunday morning. Oddly I think my love of 50's rock led to my love of the Ramones and all their Beach boys covers etc. I had a real hippie music teacher in elementary school that had us singing 'Blowing in the Wind' and 'Leaving on a Jet Plane' etc. It's hard to pin down a moment when I fell in love with music , it's like I was always seeking it out and taking it in. My mother used to sing it to me as a toddler... Earliest Musical Memory - Tiggi - 10-09-2011 Mrs Tiggi's just told me hers are: - There's a Hole in my Bucket & - Yellow Bird, up in The Banana Tree both of which her Dad used to sing to her as a child. Earliest Musical Memory - gater - 10-09-2011 When I was 6, I began my first music lessons... on the clarinet, the first instrument I learned to play. It was about that time I saw Ronnie (Dio) and The Prohpets quite a bit as a little kid because they were family friends. When I was a little older I hung out with Keith Gruber (guitar), and saw quite a bit of his older brother Craig when he hooked up with Ronnie and Mickey Lee during The Electric Elves transition to Elf. I remember seeing them at the Cortland County Fairgrounds, about a block from my house, and them watching us play sandlot baseball behind Gruber's parents house.
