I was not sure what to expect here, the packaging suggests something theatrical but you never know!

Track One The Grand Theatre Traditional rock based music with pop overtones. The sound is pleasant but does not really make the kind of impact that one might hope for on an opening track.

Track Two Every Night Is Friday Night ( Without You) Another track that rolls along well but is not outstanding, this band could have been a little more of a punk outfit if they had some more bight!

Track Three The Magician A fast paced track with a bit of a hillbilly feel about it….Its a happy track and quite infectious and a bit chaotic.

Track Four You Were Born To Be In Battle. When it starts this seems like a lost Joe Meek production with it’s heavily echoed bass guitar and Clem Clatinni drumming. Add to this a deep vocal and we are ready to journey back to the early sixties and 304 Holloway Road.

Track Five The Dance Class, This seems like high energy pop music…………………Crisp, quick delivery, good guitar work and a raw feeling……………..Nice stuff!

Track Six Let The Whisky Take The Reins This track chugs along nicely , its an easy rack with some nice deep guitar work and a vocal that suggests that the singer knows a bit about the liquid mentioned in the title!

Track Seven Champaign Illinois A bit of a country feel , maybe a bit of the Eagles pervades this track.Quite liked this one it has catchy set of lyrics.

Track Eight A State of Texas There is a definite country rock feel about many of the tracks on this album, this was has pace and a rushing vocal but it does not really stand out for me.

Track Nine You Smoke To Much Light and rhythmic track , with all round appeal.

Track Ten Love Is What You Are A slower ballad , gentle guitar playing and harmonies are evident . The whole thing is simple and charming.

Track Eleven Please Hold On While The Train Is Moving Faster, heaver song with a train theme, we are not at heavy metal but we are on our way !

Track Twelve The Beauty Marks The final offering on this album , a slow acoustic offering , it’s like a lament ……………………..

This is pop orientated album which displays several over influences and styles. It’s good but not outstanding ………………..:nod:Cool
