Music Fan new to forum - evilB - 29-03-2011 Hello everyone, I have been a music obsessive for many years and recently stumbled upon your forum. What drew me here? The variety of music discussed and an overall tone of respect in the many threads. I tend to listen to extreme music but enjoy many styles. I find it very exciting that I may discover a new band or genre that will open a new world to me. I still purchase my music in physical form - either vinyl / CD or tape - yeah still some of us out there. There is something about the physical copy that I can't let go of. I look forward to reading about and discussing music with other like-minded souls. evilB Music Fan new to forum - gryphon - 29-03-2011 A Warm welcome to MD I hope you find us a happy and stimulating place to be and we are looking forward to many musical discussions with you. ![]() ![]()
Music Fan new to forum - Tiggi - 29-03-2011 Hello evil, & welcome to MD. I'm with you on physical copies, and still have my vinyl collection, as do several other members here. Hope you enjoy the site. Music Fan new to forum - evilB - 29-03-2011 Thank-you gryphon & Tiggi. Glad to hear there are more obsessives/collectors out there. Music Fan new to forum - Music Head - 29-03-2011 welcome tape, what's tape? Music Fan new to forum - evilB - 29-03-2011 Music Head Wrote:welcome Thanks for the welcome Music Head (Can I call you Mr? Assuming you are a Adrian Belew fan). Yeah I still listen casettes & my reel to reel. Did get rid of the 8-tracks in my world when I sold the car that had the player in it. Sure don't miss the "kathunk" in the middle of a song when it switches to the next channel. I think Thick as a Brick was the "no turning back" point to replace anything I had on 8-track. Oh the memories, sure glad that 8-Tracks left the building. Music Fan new to forum - Music Head - 29-03-2011 evilB Wrote:Thanks for the welcome Music Head (Can I call you Mr? Used to be a local radio station that played a new album in full, no commercials every weeknight at midnight. That reel to reel recorded every one. Stayed up till midnight every night just to do that. Still have them tapes, a couple hundred albums at least. Probably haven't stayed up till midnight since then. Music Fan new to forum - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-03-2011 hey "evilb" and welcome to MD, good to have another person here who prefers the 'hard copy' rather than downloads. other than quality conversation, we pride ourselves on a zero tollerance to 'abuse' of fellow members...which im glad you have already noticed! Music Fan new to forum - evilB - 30-03-2011 Recording the radio, it has been a long time, has it not? I used my reel to reel to back-up the vinyl I did not want to wear out. My radio recordings are long gone as I taped the top twenty so I could go out and find the new ones (that I liked) when they came to the record stores. I certainly did notice the respect afforded everyone Crazy-Horse, and it's a very big reason I have come to this forum. Thank-you as well for the welcome. Many places to look in this forum. It will take a while to figure out where I fit but I am looking forward to finding the spots I'll enjoy sitting in. evilB Music Fan new to forum - Schmidty797 - 30-03-2011 Welcome evilB. |
