NEW ALBUM: MADELEINE PEYROUX ~ Let's Walk - Ruby - 29-06-2024 MADELEINE PEYROUX ~ Let’s Walk   Ms Peyroux has such a distinctive voice, and she never misses a nuance – impeccable timing and enunciation - she closes her words. She won’t be pleasing the far right with this offering which is her ninth solo album and the first on which she’s penned every track – with limited collaboration. She is by turns both serious and playful. In addition to giving what seems to me a very reasonable voice to some serious social issues, there are lighter moments, and she is quite funny in a proper kind of way – I like her sense of humour. A great set of listenable songs in a variety of moods – cleverly written and beautifully constructed and produced - the obligatory French title thrown in for good measure. It feels satisfying.
