Rolling Stones Best Album Poll - 1 of 2 - Music Head - 28-11-2009

Whew! that was a bear. All those conflicts between U.S. and U.K. releases.
Hope I didn't screw up anything. I listed both countries track listings and when there was different album covers I went with U.S. (no offense U.K. people).

I did have to cut out the last 4 studio albums, which is not as bad as I thought it would be. You may still vote for those albums if you wish (I can't imagine) it will just have to be in the form a post in this thread rather than clicking on your vote. Just post the album title and I will still record it.

Those 4 titles are:

Steel Wheels
Voodoo Lounge
Bridges To Babylon
A Bigger Bang

Remember you can only vote in Thread 1 or Thread 2, not both.

It is not necessary to post a comment when you vote, but we would all appreciate your reason for your selection.

thanks

my vote
Toughie for me, limited to the first thread anyway. Not much in thread 2 that I would consider. Went with Out Of Our Heads. That's the album that made me a Stones over Beatles guy. Had to be a mod.

Very nice work what you have done here music head.

Rolling Stones is a band that I do not listen much as I haven't heard many of the songs in the first place.

I have voted 1# 'The Rolling Stones'

But I know the stones are a popular band, and based on the results and discussions, I will make the effort to listen to tracks I haven't already heard.

Rolling Stones Best Album Poll - 1 of 2 - Tiggi - 29-11-2009

Conventional wisdom says probably Exile on Main St, but I'm plumping for Aftermath.

This is where I feel Mick & Keef's writing really blossomed.

Something tells me there will not be a clear winner in this poll.:ranger:

Let it Bleed, with Beggars Banquet a close second. If Sticky Fingers were included in this period, I'd also call it a close second.

Tragic as it was for them, 68-72 is where their music perfectly reflected the so-called dark underbelly of the 60s. Very raw, bluesy, raunchy, and honest.
