NEW TRACK: Steve Hackett - "Andalusian Heart" - Ruby - 21-11-2020

From his upcoming album Under a Mediterranean Sky ...

Quote from Loudersound -

"The beauty of Andalusia with its Moorish and Gypsy magic and the strains of distant guitars echoing through its ornate archways has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime," says Hackett. "So many of the things that have inspired me about Spain are embodied in this romantic track, featuring Roger King’s orchestral arrangement, Franck Avril on oboe, Christine Townsend on violin and viola, and myself on classical guitar.”

On the 'to-buy' list for sure.

Another track has been released - this time "Mdina", referencing the walled city on Malta. This one is particularly close to my heart as that is where my daughter is - Gozo to be precise. Want to go there ... very badly!! A bit more 'ceremonial' and formal this time, with all the gravitas befitting a city of such great antiquity. Still lyrical too though - lovely stuff.

i was hoping to hear the piece of music to bring back the smells and sounds of Malta through some regional instrumentations.
all i heard was stock standard orchestrations.
hoping the rest of the album has something to bring back those memories...

BTW, your daughter is a lucky girl Ruby.
i still have such vivid memories of both Malta and Morrocco.
