Murray Osborne - John Glenfield - 26-09-2020

John Glenfield Wrote:Hello All,
wonder if anyone can help me? I'm trying to find Murray Osborne, (ex Beachhead) guitarist in the early '80s, have recently spoken with Gary Dale, (The Layabouts, Zarsoffs) and his ex bandmate with Beachhead, who last saw him about ten years ago on the Central Coast of NSW, since then I have drawn a blank and can't find him anywhere.

Murray and I  were good friends in the '70s when he/we had a band in Liverpool, he is a mighty fine guitarist, as this old post from Beachie attests*, we briefly caught up during his time with Beachhead, and since then have lost contact.

I would love to catch up with him again, this is my first attempt at posting anything, and I have no idea what I am doing, last night I saw a post from Music Head mentioning Beachhead so joined up, can anyone help?

Don't be ashamed mate! There are many jazz players whom I haven't "dug much into" either.
It's far too easy to say who is better than whom in any form but, among those that I really enjoy there are my own guitarists over the years including Gary Dale, Will Irving, Matt Ross, Matt Dwyer, (the late) Rodney 'Eddy' Edwards and Murray Osborne. Others that I know personally and have played with include 'Blind Dog Donny' Burke, Geoff Achison, Paul Wookey, Mal Eastick, Phil Manning, Jeff King, Lez Karski (Lez was actually in British band Supercharge before moving to OZ), Tony Pedrosa, Harvey Fisk, Glen Terry, Christo Carlsen and the list goes ever on.
Robert Johnson is at the top of my list as are 'Son' House, Hubert Sumlin and many others. Truth is my friend, it really is very much a personal preference.

Sorry, can't help John. Maybe MH (Music Head) might know. He will be logging on in a couple of hours. I assume you've tried all the regular social media sites (Instagram, Facebook etc.) Sometimes you can track people down by using the Google search engine based in a particular country. PIPL is another good one for tracking people down. Good luck in your quest.

not sure if this helps or not mate but its a lead of sorts:

http://www.beachblues.org/ (click on "a history of Beachhead/Beachhead's Blues"), scroll down to "the to guitar band", Murray's name is mentioned, you may be able to get yourself something from there.
