NEW ALBUM: Dennis DeYoung "26 East, Volume I" - CRAZY-HORSE - 22-05-2020 ![]() Spotify listen: vocalist for Styx. dont really have much to compare it to as ive only got one album (Kilroy Was 'ere) and only know their singles otherwise. album sounds like the Styx I am aware of, songs are well crafted. one duet which is the lead off single, with Julian Lennon, DeYoung says he wrote the track with Jules in mind. that's is probably the weakest song on the album but its still not too bad. title says 'volume I" yet DeYoung says its going to be his last album but he wants one final Styx tour to go ahead. a good solid album the two standout tracks IMO: with all due respect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9FnZldgUow sensing a Trump diss with this one! run for the roses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHQuy17yJ0g absolutely beautiful the short final track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lihKYEv5ACM sounds like his Beatle "the end"??? and the single: RE: NEW ALBUM: Dennis DeYoung "26 East, Volume I" - Ruby - 22-05-2020 I'll definitely listen to this CH. "Run for the Roses" is a Dan Fogelberg song. I seem to remember it being one of MH's favourites. RE: NEW ALBUM: Dennis DeYoung "26 East, Volume I" - Ruby - 24-05-2020 ^^Oops. Just been listening to the album and it's not the same "Run for the Roses", lol! Strike that. He's good at what he does. I like that he's following his own muse and not jumping on some or other bandwagon, even if his particular brand of AOR isn't all that popular anymore. Or is it?? Still has a very good voice too. RE: NEW ALBUM: Dennis DeYoung "26 East, Volume I" - Ruby - 24-05-2020 ^That epilogue is quite moving - the reference to Paradise Theatre and the accordion - takes me straight to "Boat on the River". If that's him wrapping up his career - it's a pretty classy farewell. RE: NEW ALBUM: Dennis DeYoung "26 East, Volume I" - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-05-2020 on Run For The Roses.... no problem Ruby I make mistakes also sometimes like when I heard Paul McCartney sing Let It Be in concert and getting confused thinking it was the same as a similar titled tune by a group called The Beatles. LOL. RE: NEW ALBUM: Dennis DeYoung "26 East, Volume I" - Jerome - 25-05-2020 Used to have Desert Moon a long time ago. Lent it to somebody but it never came back. Today's pick - https://youtu.be/bNQhrUyQ03o Love this track. Followed by this masterpiece. https://youtu.be/Oxi1cmG_5pc And of course - https://youtu.be/4dFxRF8fa7M |
