NEW ALBUM: Pearl Jam "gigaton" - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-03-2020

Spotify listen:

eleventh studio album.
always thought they were unfairly lumped with the grunge bands just because they hailed
from Seattle at the time grunge was emerging.
these guys are much more versatile than that, its sort of like putting The Jam in the punk
pigeon hole because they emerged the same time as punk.
anyway.
album opens with a song typical of their sound.
by track three we get something that sounds like Talking Heads and the surprises don't stop there.
track five and six we get ballads.
track seven heads us back to familiar territory as does eight with its rock beat.
nine gets another ballad and the tenth track they go all acoustic on me.
a rocking ballad brings in #11 and the last track is a fitting closer to an interesting collection of songs.
overall,
they've quietened down their sound and expanding, not afraid to hear hints of influences in their songs.

loved the initial track that sounds like Talking Heads that Ruby posted a few weeks ago
but heres the other standout for me:
