I bought Alabama Shakes debut album, half of it was very good, the other half seemed like filler to me, she has a great voice though...
ive been meaning to give the album a listen for a couple of weeks now, sounds like Curtis eh?, i'll give it a whirl after work today

I've been besotted with Alabama Shakes and Brittany since first stumbling across them on a politics forum.
Apart from their musical skill and honesty they never decend into today's all too common trap of trying to look glamorous &/or weird to attract attention.

I listened to the album, wasn't overly impressed with it...
the single, Stay High, was best track by far IMO

One thing I did notice about Stay High, which to my ears was out of place, were added ‘special effects’ which I’ve never heard used by Alabama Shakes themselves. Sometimes I want to strangle recording engineers and producers who can’t keep their hands off all those little digital tricks.
