Hi Guys
I'm a music tech student and I'm in the process of writing my dissertation on "What is the purpose of copyrighting your music?" I would really appreciate your participation and feedback as artist/musicians/DJ's or those who are part of the music industry to answer the questions.
I have written 9 questions in relation to the subject matter.
1. As an artist/musician/performer/label owner what do you know about copyrighting your music?
2. How do you go about copyrighting your music?
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of copyrighting your music?
4. Have you ever infringed on copyright?
5. Although you may have your intellectual property copyrighted can it still be pirated in other parts of the world?
6. Have you ever had any By outs?
7. Does copyright work for you?
8. Are you able to generate an income from your intellectual property?
9. What is your major revenue source?

It's not called homeWORK for nothing. You can get the answers to all of your questions simply by reading musicians autobiographies or doing research on the net without doing any 'surveys'. And you will also gain a better understanding of copyright in general.
