^Not much of a country fan myself, but totally get the whole vibe from that linked track.

Gram Parsons, with Emmylou Smile

Midland, sorry MH but I don't care much for some of the Texas types of music.
Just not my cup of tea. Very few songs I like of George or Dwight.
This Midland song sounds like there is a little yodeling.

But, I will be a country fan till the day I die.
There are are alot of genres who add country to their show. So, country crosses over.
Lot of the country artists started out Rock. For example Conway and Ronnie who worked with Elvis.
