Hello everyone I am Gustavo Woltmann, I work as a staff in a small office of entrepreneurs and publishers. I am a big fan of Silverchair way back when I was in highschool, just wondering where did this band go? What happened to them?

Silverchair (not "the Silverchair", they did not use the definite article) are at present on an "indefinite hibernation". Their most recent album, Young Modern, was released in 2007.
I don't know how much you already know about the band, or at what period you were into their music, but in case you didn't know the music changed (evolved, I would say) quite a lot over their career. Their first album, Frogstomp, sounds nothing like Young Modern.
Frontman Daniel Johns released a solo album last year. Johns is also one half of The Dissociatives, whose 1997 self-titled album had some quite progressive elements.

only album I have is Neon Ballroom,
wasn't in to their earlier grungy material.
didn't like Daniel Johns' solo album much,
Dissociatives, heard a few tracks by them, liked a few of them.
