Metallica "hardwired - to self destruct"

posted the single a couple of months ago, hated it as it
harked back to their thrash days....
so I wasn't sure what to expect with the album....
anyway, double disc set, thirteen tracks, most range from
six to eight minutes with one or two short ones also...
lead off track opens the proceedings with that thrash metal sound
of their early material, then its back to the metallica I love,
what I call hard rock, album closes with another thrash one, so its
bookended with thrash...
no ballads on here, I love their ballads when they do them, they suckered me in
three or four times on the album as several tracks started off like they may be ballads
then the crunch of their guitars and drums kicked in...
his voice has mellowed over the years, its almost tuneful now (LOL),
all up, a pretty good album, would have probably got my album of the week had
it not been for the Bruno Mars one, but hey, its on my "to buy" list.
