Adressing to every Hip Hop producer/ Music listeners - Chegela - 04-02-2016
Hello there, I'd really love every hip hop producer/ beatmaker / music lover to read this post.
I've been producing music for few years but i've never shared my instrumentals, I was just doing it for me and then asked my friends what they thought about it. I'm doing this as a hobbie and am a professional rythm'n blues drummer work wise.
I would really apreciate you guys listening to one of my instrumentals and giving me feedback on technical things such as mixing or anything interesting . Any comment/ advice will be taken seriously as i'd really like to improve my musical skills.

If you are a professional drummer why don't you use real drums?

It's technically hard to record and get a good sound out of it with cheap microphones, so i'd rather use samples cause at the moment it sounds better but i'm thinking about buying good old microphones when i'll get the money.

and also recording real instrument correctly demands huge engineering skills that i don't have :p

I understand what you are saying and I understand the technicalities involved but if you are a professional drummer, that means that you do this for a living. That's what 'professional' means. So you should be able to record it professionally! Also, you dont need any engineering skills - that's the job of the mixing/recording engineer. Your job is to provide the material for him to work with.

I actually do this as a living , and i record " professionally " as you say but when it comes to recording music i'm really into the "old school sound" with a lot of natural room reverb so we generally record things in cheap studios with cheap production
and if i had to record my drum for my instrumentals it'd mean that i'd have to pay for a good studio if i wanted it to sound good.

This it's more 60's rock n roll and by the way the songs on the website come from a simple demo , not released or anything as we just started the band few months ago.
