Electric Light Orchestra "when I was a dream"
ELO reformed for a couple of shows in the UK last year
and I guess they decided to see if the magic was still there
to record new material...
the new album comes out in November and is titled
"alone in the universe"...
I was apprehensive about clicking on this one, as
I didn't want it to be an embarrassment to their legacy,
but I needn't have worried because....
this single is typical Jeff Lynne, all the hallmarks are there...
orchestrations, Beatle-esque melodies etc etc...
I like this single!

I had an ELO live DVD a while back but I can't say that it was memorable in any way. I think Lynne is a very talented songwriter but he is very pedestrian on stage. But the music is good.

I thought as much...
Lynne never really had a strong voice and they did use a lot of studio trickery,
but like you said Jerome...."talented songwriter" and so was his writing partner in The Move namely Roy Wood.
