LEAVES' EYES "king of kings"

I bought this one yesterday on the strength of their latest
single release "the waking eye" which I posted a week
or so ago....
I had never heard of them previously, but they have
released ten albums on the last eleven years according
to "allmusic"....
music is what they call Goth Metal, Heavy Metal, Folk Metal
Symphonic Metal and Scandanavian Metal combined...
this Norwegian band have all those elements on this album...
at times you can almost hear the Vikings charging through the forests
to rape and pillage another town in another place, or hear them chanting
as they use the oars on their Longships...
female vocalist has an almost operatic quality to her vocals...
sort of a cross between Kate Bush and Evenescence for the most part...
an enjoyable album of music I am not generally familiar with...
"allmusic" rates this one 4.5/5 which is the highest rating on that site
for any of their albums...
the 4.5 equates to 2.7 on the Music Head Rating System(MHRS), I don't think
its anywhere near that good, but its still a pretty darn good album IMO
