Studiologic Mididcontroller - lvolt - 10-08-2015 Hey everybody, a friend of mine recently came to me with a FATAR Studiologic Midicontroller SL 880 Pro and he did that because I'm working with FL Studio. So... he didn't had any cable for it except the power cable and we brought a midi-to-usb cable for the controller. I've connected the cables to their respective places and I've entered FL to see if the DAW is seeing the controller under the MIDI Controller options, but except for telling me that the USB cable is available, the controller doesn't work at all in the software, although the controller power is turned on. What I want to ask is if I need some kind of driver for the FATAR Studiologic SL 880 Controller? Or If maybe someone has/had this controller and maybe the controller is the problem, meaning that it is broken, how can I know? I want to mention that the USB cable works perfectly because I've used it on another controller. Studiologic Mididcontroller - Jerome - 10-08-2015 A couple of points Without actually seeing the setup it's hard to say what's going on. Do you have an audio interface with a midi IN connection. If so I would simply connect the Fatar controller midi OUT to the audio interface midi IN. (midi cable connections on both ends) Maybe the usb/midi cable needs a driver to operate correctly And finally, maybe the port is not configured correctly in the FL software - the track that you are recording on needs to be configured to the right device. Are you using a standard PC audio card to play back sounds or do you have a dedicated audio interface? These are just some suggestions and not necessarily the answer you are looking for. What I forgot to mention is that I'm using a laptop. Anyway, I thought about it too that maybe the MIDI controller needs and audio interface to work properly. RE: Studiologic Mididcontroller - JeromeD - 19-10-2021 I know this is an old post but I answer these threads whether they are old or not. Maybe someone else could learn from it. It sounds pretty much like the controller is OK, the cable is OK but your DAW is not configured correctly. You might have a section in your DAW that says MIDI devices IN. But you have to enable the track you are currently recording on to SEE this MIDI device. I don't think anything is wrong with the equipment as such. You just have to point the DAW track you are on (the current selected track) to the MIDI device you want it to see, whether you are recording on that track or not, or just want to hear live real-time playback while you play the controller. Hope this helps. |
