Paul Kalkbrenner - Feed Your Head - TheNeedleDrops - 22-07-2015 You know when a present day artist reaches way back to the 60s, pulls out a hit, and turns it into something that will appeal to today's younger generation as well. This one is, essentially Grace Slick vocals (when she was with Jefferson Airplane) laid over a modern-day beat. Fast forward to 1:30 minute if you get antsy - which I did the first time around - but not since then. Paul Kalkbrenner - Feed Your Head - SteveO - 25-07-2015 They call these songs "Mash Ups"...some are ok but overall they are artificially crafted junk. Paul Kalkbrenner - Feed Your Head - TheNeedleDrops - 27-07-2015 I like to think of them as remixes...he took a song and re-mixed it. A mash-up, to me, would be when you take two totally different songs, don't change them (maybe a smidge), and mash them together, like this (which I think is PHENOMENAL): As for Kalkbrenner, I think it's kinda cool when they take an old song and kind of revive it. Look at it this way, the youngins might stumble across a great song. If it takes Kalkbrenner remixing a song to bring attention back to Grace Slick, then I say, DO IT! |
