Jim Ed Brown, RIP - jazzboCR - 14-06-2015

Sentimental? Even mawkish? OK but he--solo or with his sisters as The Browns--brought comfort, solace to millions of folks...in a distinctively musical way. Here's the NY Times obit: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/13/arts/music/jim-ed-brown-smooth-voice-on-the-three-bells-and-other-hits-dies-at-81.html
Cue the band: solo, then all 3

Appreciate the compliment, C-H. I enjoy out-of-mainstream stuff--but not totally wack--and I enjoy bringing it to our Board.

Jim Ed Brown, RIP - James Otto Sweet Heart - 16-06-2015

His song named "Fall Softly Snow" has been my most favorite Christmas song ever since the first time that I heard it when I was like 6 or 7 years old and I will be 33 at the end of this month, may Jim Ed rest in peace.

God bless you and his family always!!!

Holly

Jim Ed Brown, RIP - Hinch - 20-06-2015

I live in Nashville, Tn and had the pleasure of seeing Jim Ed Brown perform live at the WSM Midnight Jamboree a couple times since 2000, including once with his sisters. Growing up knowing of him on tv and radio since the 1950's, I couldn't help but shed a few tears when I heard of his death.
