If you don't know who he is or how important he is to modern music of the dance persuasion, you are forgiven--he is just now coming out with his first album in 30 years. Simply said: EDM would not exist without him, proven by the fact that so many of the current BPM Bruisin' Brigade appear with him...and were eager to do so. i noticed your thread just moments after seeing him in a UK list of "new releases" for this week....
to be honest, he is pretty much just a name to me except for this one which i own on 7" vinyl from back in the 1980s...

it was the lead off single from the "electric dreams" movie and features Human League's Phil Oakey on vocals

I like what he did with Spears and "Tom's Diner"...just enough to modernize it and make it current. I also like Mikky Ekko's feature, but, truth be told that was more for the Ekko bit than the music bit.
