the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - Mrrusty1 - 30-05-2015 an outstanding album from the zombies featuring Rod Argent on keyboards and colin Blunstone vocals , Argent was to go on to be a great progressive rock force in his own band Argent , you can hear the progression as you go through this album the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - SteveO - 30-05-2015 ^ Yes indeed Rusty! One of those unknown classics! Still sounds fresh today! Has rock really progressed in 50 years? I am engrossed with these great albums from the late 60s and early 70s! Some great albums on this list...I'll be parked here for quite awhile! http://most-def.net/25-best-hard-rock-albums-youve-probably-never-heard/ the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - Jerome - 30-05-2015 Colin Blunstone is one of rare and unique vocalists. I particularly like his work on the Alan Parsons Project albums. the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - Ruby - 30-05-2015 Rod Argent has never stopped â I have the Zombieâs newest release which IMHO is fabulous. Others might disagree! Rodâs solo albums are great too - Moving Home (1978) and Red House (1988/91 depending on where you look!) which is also the name of his studio and which I canât find clips for listening to, other than on LastFM now that Grooveshark has been killed; largely instrumental and it's all his work â heâs brilliant â itâs a fantastic album and itâs on my to purchase list. He also made one called Classically Speaking, which I havenât listened to yet. This is from Moving Home â (acoustic guitar by Gary Moore and Phil Collins on drums) the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - Mrrusty1 - 11-06-2015 yes indeed Rod Argent still does concerts with the zombies playing songs from Argent aswell I hope to get a chance to see them live the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - Mrrusty1 - 11-06-2015 SteveO Wrote:^ Yes indeed Rusty! I'm a bit confused by the emboldened word. How can it progress when there's all sorts of veins not explored (or at least not deeply enough). Plus it has absorbed and processed such other musics as jazz and classical. What thrills me most is that rare artist who takes extant, vintage materials and refashions/ reinvents--one such was John Fogerty but here's others like James Hunter. Jazz has absorbed hip-hop elements; Classical has invented several strains in these last 150 years; Reggae has put its spin on all manner of American forms, then moved on. Where can Rock or Rock&Roll move to? Not being a buster; serious question--What elements are left to explore/absorb/invent? the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - SteveO - 15-06-2015 Just saying, there is a treasure trove of great fairly obscure albums by fascinating bands and artists that were buried for various reasons from the mid 60s to early 70s. I am having a great time discovering these albums that did not produce popular singles in the top 40..although I will say the Top 40 back then was magnificent, I wanted to buy all of the 40 singles!...lol. I go back to look at the charts from decades ago and several artists are very familiar. I have forgotten them while other artists are new to me! The new rock artists are not reinventing the wheel just continuing to rock on! http://most-def.net/25-best-hard-roc...y-never-heard/ I have already posted this link...you can delve into folk, blues, jazz, avant garde, ...to discover new lost artists on several sites! the zombies album oddyssey and oracle - Mrrusty1 - 19-06-2015 I think as long as people can still experiment, develop and intergrate different musical forms that has to be a good thing jazzboCR Wrote:I'm a bit confused by the emboldened word.
