He had a monster hit then seemingly dropped off the planet. Contract disputes kept him out of the studio for a time, and then he was more focused on songwriting (some serious artists have gotten good sings from him.). Not that he put that guitar to rest--several CDs attest to that. Steve Forbert Early on he was compared with Bob Dylan but he's gotten past all that.
