My candidate is, as you'd expect, the Beach Boys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7FntehHI2g <<> see song #5: an expression of Yiddischer/ Southern Italian longings/fantasies. Whatever, as filtered through the psyche of an introverted, conflicted SoCal outside observer. Brian Wilson basically observed and created a lifestyle, not to mention a musical form that persists to this day. Little escaped his attention.

two albums off the top of my head...
Sex Pistols "never mind the bollocks"....pure guitar drenched punk rock,not a bad tune in sight.
The Clash "the clash"........................again,another punk rock album, thumping drums,high charged guitars and the growl of Joe Strummer, politically/socially charged songs.(probably the greatest punk album ever made!

Two ace candidates: J Geils Band Here's the AMG descriptor http://www.allmusic.com/album/the-j-geils-band-mw0000199650 < Personally speaking, it was a bolt from the blue, a smack in the face to all the turgid singer/songwriter shtuff then clogging the airwaves--just like the debut of CCR though J geils was a much more seasoned band and much more a group effort. With both you have to keep the backdrop of the times and what else was out there firmly in mind and not consider either as isolated exemplars.

I've been looking for information on the internet so that it would be more clear for me the difference between homonym and eponymous and I think I got it. By the way this is interesting to me 'cause I study languages so thanks for having noticed it.
As regards your opinion, it may be a possibility, I'd never thought about that. Even Queen (not only the debut, but the two first albums), Led Zeppelin (not only the debut, but four!), Bob Dylan and so many more...

Mer De Noms - A Perfect Circle
This, in my opinion, is one of the best rock albums ever made... APC is probably my favorite band. A perfect mixture between heavy and beauty. I love everything else they've made too, but MDN is their best I think.
Mandylion - The Gathering
This is technically a metal album, and technically not their debut, but it's when Anneke joined the band as vocalist which, in my opinion, is when the band actually started making music. She has an amazing voice, and the songwriting is relatively simple but still deep and thoughtful. I just love it.
