So I'm a big music nerd first. Second I'm a hip hop producer (I'm not gonna try to pimp my music out though LOL). And third a former DJ and current vinyl addict.
So between those 3 factors I've got it all covered. But unfortunately none of my friends are as well rounded as myself so I've turned to you guys to feed my conversation urges.

Hi Marty, if I can be familiar. Welcome to Music Discussion.
I'm a Flaming Lips fan myself. Have only got into them over the last few years, but have managed to catch them live on their last 2 UK tours.
I've worked backward through their albums and have only gone back as far as Clouds Taste Metallic before I decided their origins were a little outside my comfort zone.
Great band, and truly spectacular live...

ahhhh, clouds taste metallic is great!!! you gotta hussle backwards to the one before that though. transmissions from the satellite heart is AWESOME!!! the drums are so huge on that album its great. (i have it online if needed.)
