What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-12-2013 great, looking foreward to hearing "city to city"ive always read great reports about it,... the "baker street" album i got is a compilation of tracks from his first three or four studio sets, got is as a bit more of an insight into his material thanks for the recommendations a while ago Jerome, appreciate it, now, i just need to get me one or two of your Gabriel reco's... What Did You Buy? - Music Head - 29-12-2013 thanks for reviving the thread CH was afraid I would have to look for it let me know about the Jackson will be posting my EOY purchases probably next month What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-12-2013 i'll put Jackson on in the car tomorrow and will let you know my first thoughts tomorrow also.... i cant see me buying many 2013 releases with my purchases as very little has inspired me this year, the main exceptions will be Katy Perry/Imagine Dragons and maybe Kings Of Leon... all my other purchases will be older albums, will be saving a bit of the vouchers for the new Springsteen and Neil Finn ones due out in february... What Did You Buy? - SteveO - 30-12-2013 One of my best Christmas gifts ever...brought me to tears! A ticket for Black Sabbath on April 3!!!!!,,,from my dear oldest daughter and son in law! What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-12-2013 picked up two more cd's today.... ![]() THE MONKEES "music box" i didnt own any primate music so i thought this 4cd 99track set Anthology would be a great place to start, and all for $16, i figured with that price i couldnt go far wrong.... discs 1-3 cover their period from 1966-69 disc 4 covers 1970-96 im not expecting much from the fourth disc, but the other three discs should contain some very good pop-music ![]() JAMES BLUNT "moonlanding" now im not a huge fan of Blunt... Dani owns his "road to bedlam" set which i like, but thats a far as my interest in him has been, that is until now... i love the two singles released thus-so-far from this album,so it was time to inject some Blunt into my collection! What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-12-2013 Dani has also been using her xmas voucher, so far she has purchased
What Did You Buy? - SteveO - 30-12-2013 Nice picks CH and Dani!...enjoy! What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-12-2013 Music Head Wrote:thanks for reviving the thread CH my initial thoughts on the Alan Jackson are in your messages inbox mate.... What Did You Buy? - Music Head - 30-12-2013 ^^ first thought on the Monkees was overkill but for that price, hard to pass up must be close to their entire catalogue love the Blunt Bedlam album and don't be trying to talk Dani out of the Eagles purchases take it to the limit Dani What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 06-01-2014 another three purchases from my xmas gift vouchers today.... ![]() NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS "abbatoir blues/the lyre of orpheus" im a huge fan of Nick Cave as the regulars on MD know, and it was only when Music Head mentioned this album the other day that it triggered my memory into getting it! ![]() ELTON JOHN "the diving board" i reviewed this one from an online listen earlier in 2013, loved the simplicity of the vocal/piano sounding tracks as Elton returned to his 1970s roots so i had to get it! ![]() DAVID BOWIE "the next day" yeh-yeh, i criticised this one when i reviewed it on MD when it came out in 2013,i said it was a load of crap with Bowie trying to relive his glory days and that the "heroes" rip-off cover was the best thing about it, but... ive heard it a couple more times since then and it has grown on me a bit(same cant be said for the McCartney album though LMAO SteveO!) as a footnote, ive listened to the latest Arcade Fire and Kings Of Leon albums and they havent done anything for me so i wont be getting those! |
