You pose an interesting question Linda! As for a Trump win, as an innocent Canadian bystander, I think the Donald will shake things up! Cruz,Rubio and Kasich and all of the 11 others were and are deadpans...they do nothing, same old boring rhetoric! I do like Kasich however but he can't win any state outside of Ohio and possibly Illinois...that's a shame! Trump is far from boring! An insane alternative to Canadian boresville politics....lol. Anything can happen in November! The American electorate is polarised at 50/50 basically. Could go either way really!

I can't see Rubio or Cruz beating Hillary! Perhaps Trump can...the only hope for a screwy GOP! I hope he gets the 1237 needed to lock in the nomination. But I really hope Hillary wins the presidency...first woman prez versus a nutcase in Trump! This is the weirdest primary campaigning that I have ever seen! Unreal that the biggest topic on last night's debate was Donald's hands and manhood! No policy discussions....pathetic!

Lovely Linda Wrote:This may be a dumb question but...can a Republcan ask a Dem to be his running mate?
My hubby asked me this question. I told him I didn't recall this happening.

no, not a dumb question at all Linda..

in act its probably one of the best questions I have ever heard in regards to politics anywhere,

I look foreward to any response that may be forthcoming from anyone...
though I suspect MH may be the one to answer this one...

personally, I cant see why it cant be done..
and a bi-partisan approach could be a good idea to get all sides agreeing on issues instead
of Dems disagreeing because a Rep proposes something (and the other way also)

Well, I did Google the question last night but did not see a reason why the candidates can not go across party lines and pick a running mate.

Linda, who do you have in mind, if anyone?

no problem with cross party tickets

Lincoln (republican) chose Andrew Johnson (democrat)
Jefferson (democratic-republican) chose John Adams (federalist)

heres another question for you MH....

say Hillary gets the nod, it would make sense that the only other candidate being Sanders should be her VP, right?
so,
can she choose someone who didn't even nominate to run?

Politics - Music Head - 06-03-2016

yesterdays results

4 states up for Republicans

Trump wins Kentucky and Louisiana
Cruz wins Maine and Kansas

3 states up for Democrats

Sanders wins Kansas and Nebraska
Clinton wins Louisiana

of course
don't have to go back far for that one
Bush chose Cheney

So Hillary (I'm just throwing in her name as an example),
She could theoretically have hubby Bill as a running mate then?

Are there restrictions as to who can be a running mate,
Could the nominee choose their local postal worker for example...?
I know they wouldn't, but could they?
