1977 and Punk rock is just warming up and ready to hit the world..............Rick Wakeman has come back into the Yes fold........The five members are out in Switzerland and the press are ready to bury the progressive dinosaurs.........
Yes sit back breath deeply and produce another classic.................the roots of this one are still in progressive music and they have not decided to sell out........instead they take progressive music a step further..............the tracks are shorter full of punch and yet still tender when it counts....................gone are the dream world fantasies and incomes more sharp edged story telling.............
Excellent musicianship is still important as is the clearer use of vocal instrumentation to create a feeling..................And so we are down to five not so long tracks all with their own special appeal....The stars are "Wondrous Stories"
and "Going For The One" which introduce Yes to the singles market..........."Turn Of The Century" shows that the beginnings of solo projects are not far away and " Parallels" and "Awaken" show that the collective productive Yes are still together and functioning...............................Yes show that they can adapt and that changes are coming.......................stay tuned for the next installment Cool

Follow up to the smash debut. Could they do it? Hell yes! Much better. Not chart wise where it stalled at a paltry #41, but a much better album for me. An album about the old west, done in style. The best track being the title, where it doesn't get any better, but the singles were Tequila Sunrise and Outlaw Man which were both huge flops. They shoulda asked me. Henley basically took over here with credits on most of the tracks. Two tracks don't fit on here at all with the overall laid back feel, Twenty One and Out Of Control. Other than those, just marvelous. I did not grade the last 2 tracks, which are reprises.

In my best Simon Cowell voice, "This is just not going to work for you. Do you have a backup plan?" All due respect to Mr. Starr, stay away from the microphone. There are a few decent tracks on here, but all in all, it's just not good. This is the 15th try and he takes over the production chores. The first single is Walk With You, on which Sir Paul gives him aid on some nice backup. Also like the strings on that cut. Other tracks Joe Walsh and Joss Stone also make appearances. The album has already charted higher since any release since 1976's Ringo's Rotogravure, so cheers for the effort. Despite my previous comment, I wish him the best. A man's gotta do what he's comfortable doing.

Been meaning to listen to this for a long time but kept putting it off. Finally my daughter dropped it on me, so I had no excuses. Not as impressed as most are. The latest vocalist who can slur the word "I", and make it sound good. This is the fourth album from the Tennessee natives, and by now they're probably considered mainstream. The album reached #4 on the U.S. charts with singles of Sex On Fire at #56 and Use Somebody at #4, which are two of my top rated tracks.

Steve Hackett jumped ship, thus the title of this 9th album, with Collins, Rutherford and Banks. A shift away from the prog rock towards shorter, some would say more radio friendly material. The album was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching #3 in the U.K. and #14 in the U.S. with the single and best track of Follow, Follow Me reaching #23 in the U.S. and top 5 in the U.K.
