Yeah, but sending our troops over there to get them maimed or killed is only adding to the toll. Wounded Warriors is heartbreaking :frown:

IMHO our biggest treat is our own government. From what I can understand the training from the jerks who hit the Twin Towers came from our own country. Somebody didn't have their eye on the ball. They slipped through here and killed thousands of people. Strange no one knew.

Actually there was a lower-level woman analyst in, I believe, a Minneapolis FAA data center who tried her best to alert with her findings. She was routinely ignored up-and-down. They didn't know because they didn't want to know?

Could be! I don't think we will ever know the whole truth about the attack or the Towers coming down! Sad isn't it :frown:

How about this--we let the Russians have Crimea and some parts of eastern Ukraine (all mostly ethnic Russians); they let Chechnya secede (98% Muslim; 2% Russian). Sound like a plan? And Sister Rebelgirl--please take it easy on the Fortress America neo-isolationism. I'm not arguing for more Manifest Destiny either but we are in every way a major player in the world and have to responsibly engage with it. If you want craven and cowardly behavior, look at the British--sold their souls for a ruble or two.

The British refused to issue any sanctions against the Russians over Ukraine/Crimea because they won't risk the billions that Russian plutocrats/kleptocrats have invested (some say "laundered" in GB) This opinion directly lifted from The Economist magazine (a UK publication of outstanding merit and verity). As for the second: It was British punitive intransigence (a desire to punish) towards the Germans after WW1 that led directly if crooked-line-ly to WW2--it crushed the Germans leading to the hard Left-Right schism that produced and encouraged the likes of Adolph Hitler. Remember, he was overwhelmingly popularly elected. Also, it was our isolationism that led to us to not joining WW2 directly for 2 years into it (and then only because the Axis attacked us--not a change-of -heart about poor Europe). Besides I'm of Irish/Scottish extraction--wanna defend the English to me (mass destruction, rapine, genocide and all)?

The fact of the matter is that all countries are guilty of atrocities - pure and simple. The Americans, South Africans, English, Irish etc. ALL of them have participated in slavery, exploitation and general mayhem. And it's Adolf not 'Adolph'.

As Jimi Hendrix once said 'When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace'

We as a species are nowhere near that state yet. And as long as we have religion, money & national fanaticism, we never will be. We have not even moved out of the tribal stage yet. (witness any 'sporting' event)
