I finally gave the new BB King a spin. Man, it's really good stuff. I grew up on BB and Lucille but I haven't been really held captive by anything from that duo in a while. This is really a wonderful album yet somewhat sad at the same time. Yeah, I know it's the blues.

Chris Rea's not an "authentic" Blues voice at all, but this set is basically a labour of love, collecting his unrecorded Blues songs from the last 20 years, and dedicating each of the CDs to a different aspect of Blues music.

"I Can't Get Started" by Charlie Parker.
Bebop is really cool... It's a totally different style of jazz than that that preceded it, as well as the jazz that followed. It makes me wish my guitar wasn't in the shop. If I ever have another band, I'm definitely going to throw in the more improvisational elements of this style.
