back to the Neil Young one...
he actually wrote this one straight after he saw Sex Pistols on TV, thought they were the 'kick in the ass music needed' back then, according to his biography 'shakey', the only other times he ever felt so good about new music was hearing Dylan's "like a rolling stone" and Nirvana's "smells like teen spirit"....
hey SteveO, im assuming you have heard both the acoustic and electric versions of "hey hey my my"???...
well, Devo were in the studio next to him and overheard him rehearsing the acoustic version, they went back in their studio and worked out an electric version to tkae the piss out of him and his music, then invited NY in to jam to their version,he loved it much to their surprise, thats how the electric version came about to be recorded

on Jethro Tull...you have a favourite JT moment SteveO????, i havent got one track i can place above all others, simply love a lot of them equally, i recently heard a so-called 'best of' Tull album at tem's store...it was terrible due to the fact that i realised their songe sound better as complete albums and each album flows in a conceptual type of thing, so picking a track from here or there just doesnt work well...Pink floyd are another band like that IMO,the albums have to be left alone as a complete entity without separating tracks....they are not stand alone songs whatsoever as they are pieces of a puzzle(one piece doesnt make a lot of sense,but fit all the pieces together and the picture is complete)

i have two of theirs plus a compilation...never found them to be any more than an average group with more duds than good/very good songs, The Weight, is a classic in its own right IMO

when Music Head posted Roger Waters "radio kaos" album a month or two ago, i commented saying i knew the tracks but didnt have the album...well, during my collation of my cds the other week i found 'radio kaos' in the dusty bowels of my collection...
played it today in the car, love this song...one of the best songs ever IMO,great stuff, and this live version is brilliant IMO also...
